A Thousand Hosts

IMG_0580

Today
steadfastly
we tie bright ribbons to our hearts
so hope can find a way.

We scatter folded cranes of peace
each crease hard won.

We are not heedless of the tremors of the world,
not unafraid.
not free of anger

But we are a thousand, thousand hosts;
compassion on the lintel

The neighbour
may go freely through our doors.

Whatever happens
Light has touched the frost-tipped fields today.

We are at home.

Join me on the journey. Rest, Reflect, Replenish

And today, there is still beauty despite our fears.
It seems a good day for your spiritual practice of ‘seeing’ through your camera.
I wonder what an image of today would look like.

Thank you Ara. We will need strong and gentle words today as we continue in the wash of a very different rhetoric.

And still hope, even when it’s hard and seeming foolish to tie those ribbons. A small audacity.
