For Beginning

by Catherine Smith | Sep 3, 2015

A serene beach scene at sunrise or sunset, with the sun low on the horizon, casting an orange and pink glow over calm water and reflecting off the surface, while soft clouds scatter across the sky.

Holy One,
may we come to this hour
as though we lay on our backs with the night sky above us
with the orange moon tying us to the originating moment
and all who are between.

may we come to this hour
as though astonished by the delight of the morning sun
when we thought we could not be comforted
or were to pressed to care.

may we come to this hour
as though longing to let everything go,
as though we craved You.

may we come
to this hour

May it be so.

In Jesus' name
May it be so.
