Prayer Flag

by Catherine Smith | Feb 5, 2015

A vibrant painting shows three colorful houses with exaggerated, slanted roofs against a swirling blue sky. A patterned quilt hangs on a clothesline between the houses, and green grass covers the ground.

May my life, Holy One
Be a prayer flag
Hung on the line of creation
The words written in my heart
Washed by the rain
Blown by the wind
Til the word that I am
becomes one with the elements
May it be a good word
Light and graceful and reverent
May it be powerful in its relinquishing
into you.
May it say beloved;
in Jesus' name, beloved.
