Prayer for Beginning a Meeting

by Catherine Smith | Mar 15, 2015

Close-up of green grass blades poking through patches of melting snow on the ground, with sunlight creating a sparkling effect—like a quiet prayer marking the hope and renewal often felt when beginning a meeting.

Holy One,
We come, each carrying our own story
our own vision
our own hopes
and our own purpose
all to be threaded into
the great story that is Your life with ours

The story that holds ours like a singing bowl,

(I invite you into a moment of silence in which you listen to your hopes for today within the singing bowl of God.)

May all that we hope for individually
be found in that which we have in You
gospel, Good News, reconciling and redemption.

May our work today be one with our worship.
In Jesus name
Amen.
