Receiving the blue

This first morning of Advent I am filled with the sense of colour that is more than colour. It’s longing already tinged with fulfillment.
I am infused with, wrapped in, the weightless, substance of blue. I am hushed and humbled and reverently haunted.
I am a pool both fluid and still.

Of course, I am also planning and baking, writing cards and attending meetings. But as I sit here with the mug of tea, the riot of lists, the hum of the heat, the un-hemmed curtains, I am caught and taught by the edge of the blue morning.

I am a pause waiting for the dawn to set my pace. I am a pool.

What do you pause for this season?
